SUZQ'S SNOWMASS SKIER/BOARDER NEWS 02/03/2010
Last Updated: 02/04/10

Wednesday February 3, 2010

Thanks to the thousands that attended X-GAMES. A Thrilling time. Thanks to the super athletes for the dedication to the extreme.

The focus of the week is the Big Burn area .  Is the name due to burning thighs or
historical forest fire? Or? Find out these kinds of answers on Free Mountain Tours.

Instructor Bob is on Sneaky's with two delightful ladies , one from Argentina and one from North Carolina.
They are giggling, laughing, learning and having fun while enjoying astounding views.

Another instructor is discussing the how to's of bumps.
If you want to try a bump trail- Jack of Hearts is about 3/4 of the way
down Sneaky's and off to the right- look for the sign.

From Sneaky's you can look up to Sam's Knob where you most likely got off
the Village Express (VX) on your way to the Big Burn.

Pictured below are Cathy Davis of Evergreen, Co. and Sandra Poza of the
San Francisco area.  They are enjoying their ski club vacation time.
Today it is lunch at the Ullrhof (U-ler-hoff). THANKS for picture time girls.
Sandy was one of the many people enjoying a mountain tour today.

WORD OF THE DAY: SNOW IS COMING-DECORATE YOUR HELMET WITH SNOW

CHAIR CHATTER:  "I take a lesson wherever I go", "Snowmass is my favorite", "We are
from Spain", "Our ski club has about 200 here this year", "I want to get to the race course,
how do I get there?", "we came from Santa Barbara- stopped in Vegas on the way".
"How do we get back to the village?".

One other thing you need to do while on the Big Burn: Go to Up for Pizza and have a
chocolate chip cookie- they are famous.

Want to ski/board/ride 5.3 miles (vertical 4,407 feet)?
Ski Patrol determined the following route:Top of the Cirque to the bottom of Two Creeks.
top of Cirque to High Traverse, to High Alpine Wall Split, High Alpine down the Edge
to Turkey Trot, over Pat's Flats to the bottom of Elk Camp lift, down Funnel Bypass,
the last Cascade cutoff and down Cascade, over to East Branch, down to the
bottom of Two Creeks.
WOW:  5.3 miles- lets have a cookie

THANKS FOR CHECKING IN TO LOCALS LOWDOWN
DO HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON
Feel Free to e-mail with questions and comments.

WHERE THE WORLD COMES TOGETHER IN PEACE - Snowmass
